Dr. Xiao is an Associate Professor in Epidemiology at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. She has extensive experience in conducting epidemiological research to study environmental and behavioral risk factors for chronic diseases in the aging population, including the ADRD. She is the PI of an NIA R01 focusing on elucidating the relationships among rest-activity rhythms, metabolomics and ADRD risk in large cohorts of older men and women. As a co-I of this grant, she will provide content expertise focusing on aging, cognitive decline and ADRD, behavioral risk factors, social and environmental determinants, and epidemiological study design and methods. She will contribute to the biomarker, use cases, and AD-CDE development Work Streams for ReCARDO.
