Security
All attendees will need to go through security upon arriving at the meeting location. Security will be quite similar to going through TSA security at an airport, including luggage scanners and metal detectors. However, attendees are permitted to bring beverages into the building.
Only attendees who have received security pre-clearance will be admitted to the meeting location.
The building opens at 7 AM. Please arrive at the venue early to allow adequate time to complete the security process.
U.S. residents and green card holders are required to show a valid, government-issued ID to enter the building. Acceptable forms of identification are listed below:
- State-issued driver’s license (REAL ID only)
- State-issued ID (REAL ID only)
Security will ONLY accept the physical REAL ID. Photocopies and digital copies will not be accepted under any circumstances. Expired identification will not be accepted.
Non-U.S. residents who do not have a green card must have their physical current, valid passport and a current, valid visa, if their passport requires it.
A NIH Visitor Badge will be provided to non-NIH attendees at the security entrance. Badges must be worn throughout the visit. Upon exiting security, attendees will be escorted to the meeting room by an NIH team member. At the end of the day, attendees will return their badges to the security desk before exiting the building.

After clearing security, please proceed to the check-in desk in the Grand Hall.
Luggage Storage
Luggage storage will be available in the Grand Hall for attendees who are traveling directly from the meeting venue to the airport. Please note that all luggage must be scanned by security. This is a federal building; therefore, alcohol, weapons, and sharp objects are not permitted.
